Baby Boomer Savings Initiative
Perhaps it’s no surprise that a generation that was never going to get old has not done a great job anticipating it. According to research, about 30% of those over 55 have no retirement savings. An additional 26% reported less than $50,000 saved for retirement.
Since the Great Recession, many middle-income Boomers have adjusted their savings behavior. However, those adjustments haven't always been to save more for retirement. 28% built up an emergency fund and 17% now save a larger percentage of their paycheck. But 21% are saving a smaller percentage of their paycheck and 24% say they no longer save at all.
Whether you’re among those who haven’t saved enough or those who haven’t saved at all, Gottlieb Advisory Group can help. Our Baby Boomer Initiative can help you find ways to squeeze more savings out of your earnings and take advantage of IRA and 401/k regulations to catch up using pre-tax dollars. Plus, utilizing proper asset allocation may help you get the most out of the money you do invest.
