Registered Principal and Independent Financial Advisor
Warren Buffett once said, 'Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.' I want to help my clients plant a tree so they can sit in the shade enjoying their retirement.
Lou is a financial planner who has a different way of doing things. It’s apparent when you realize that most of his clients don’t think of him as their financial advisor, but rather, as a friend and financial coach. Lou believes the best way to help his clients become financially secure is to understand their lives and their life goals -- to walk for a bit in their shoes.
Within days of graduation from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1994, he began his career at Pension Resources. It was there that Lou became an expert in the world of 401(k) plans, profit sharing plans, money purchase plans, along with the IRS mandated annual required plan administration. Soon after, Lou began building his financial planning practice with American Express Financial Services, now known as Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc.
In 2007, Lou brought his practice to Royal Alliance Associates, Inc. where he has been able to do things the way he likes, as a truly independent financial advisor. After co-founding Bernover Gottlieb & Associates, LLC in 2007, Lou went on to create Gottlieb Advisory Group, LLC in 2014.
Lou lives in the northern suburbs with his wife Robyn, their two children and their 14 lb. Yorkie-Poo, Murphy. Lou spends a majority of his free-time doing dad things, like watching his daughter's cheer squad or his son's travel hockey team. And every once in a while, he takes his Sunburst Yellow Mazda Miata out for long drives with the top down.
Lou Gottlieb is licensed with FINRA with a Series 7 (General Securities Representative); Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Examination); and Series 24 (General Securities Principal).
